Our Researchers
Dr. Wallace is a recognized authority on neighborhood context, social norms and urban Black youth. Her work includes designing and implementing culturally-tailored and gender specific interventions that promote health. She is an expert in qualitative and quantitative methods, community-based participatory research, and creating programs for youth. She has led TrueChild's work on health and wellness for young Black women and girls.
Our Partners
Dr. Marci Eads has 20+ years' experience in research, evaluation, policy, program, and curriculum development in gender, health, violence prevention, and economic justice. A principal with Health Management Associates (HMA) she has served as lead researcher on many large multi-year federal, state, and foundation-supported projects with a gender focus, and has led TrueChild's work on STEM. She teaches graduate statistics and research methods.

Our Experts

Dr. Beverly Guy-Sheftall is a leading expert on gender, race, and class. The founding director of Spelman College's Women's Center, she has published widely on African-American studies and the role of women, including Gender Talk: The Struggle for Equality in African American Communities with Johnnetta Cole. The founding editor of Sage, a scholarly journal on Black women, she led TrueChild's work for the Office on Women's Health.
